Our Freestanding mod for Tensa4 converts any version of Tensa4 into a guyline-free stand. This is especially useful indoors, where the guying requirement of the standard version may be limiting. The compact footprint of Tensa4 Freestanding (FS) makes it fit where no other full-size hammock stand can, accommodating up to 12′ hammocks on sloped or level ground with a tripod base ~60″x84″ (17 square feet). When the standard Tensa4 guylines and anchors are left behind, Tensa4-FS weighs 15.8 pounds, and packs down to a bundle 20″ long and 6″ around. There’s no other freestanding stand on the market compatible with up to 12′ hammocks at any price with this small a footprint, pack size, and low weight. Consider also the value offered by the ability to split Tensa4 to hang two hammocks from a single support, and to convert into Solos to hang up to 4 hammocks.
The assembled stand folds to and deploys from an easily stowable column within 30 seconds. Setting up from and breaking down to the smallest packed state takes some minutes, faster after the first time by leaving pole connections and adjustments for your hammock intact.
